The Musical Fidelity M6xi is a High-End integrated amplifier engineered to deliver an outstanding combination of power, control, transparency, and musical realism. As a direct evolution of the acclaimed M6si, this new model preserves Musical Fidelity’s classic philosophy, high current capability, refined sound, and audiophile-grade construction, while introducing an optimized internal architecture and significantly expanded connectivity for modern HiFi and Home Cinema systems.
Internally, the M6xi operates as a true dual-mono system, featuring two independent monophonic power amplifier stages and a separate preamplifier section housed within a single chassis. This configuration, inherited from Musical Fidelity’s legendary TITAN amplifier, significantly improves channel separation, soundstage precision, dynamic stability, and loudspeaker control, even with highly demanding speaker loads.
With 220 W per channel into 8 ohms and 320 W per channel into 4 ohms, the Musical Fidelity M6xi delivers extraordinary power output, capable of driving high-demand loudspeakers with authority while maintaining a clean, fluid, and perfectly controlled presentation at all times.
Its low-distortion discrete output stage, based on Musical Fidelity’s classic amplification topology, minimizes crossover artifacts while preserving detail retrieval, tonal accuracy, and the natural character of music. The result is a spacious, dynamic, and immersive sound with impressive scale and an exceptionally realistic presentation.
The preamplifier section has been carefully designed to provide low noise, excellent signal integrity, and highly precise response both at low listening levels and during high-intensity playback. In addition, the stepped attenuator volume control improves channel matching compared to conventional potentiometers, resulting in a more stable and balanced stereo image.
The M6xi also incorporates a completely redesigned MM/MC phono stage featuring improved isolation, enhanced shielding, and an optimized PCB layout to reduce noise and distortion. This allows vinyl playback with greater transparency, depth, and harmonic richness.
In terms of connectivity, the Musical Fidelity M6xi is perfectly adapted to modern systems. It includes a balanced XLR input, four RCA analog inputs, optical and coaxial digital inputs, a USB-C input compatible with Hi-Res audio up to 24-bit/192 kHz, and HDMI eARC for easy TV connection or integration into a Home Cinema system.
The HT Bypass input allows the M6xi to operate as a stereo power amplifier for the front channels within a multichannel setup, while the preamplifier outputs facilitate connection to external power amplifiers, active subwoofers, or bi-amplification systems.
Another notable addition is the isolated linear 5V/2A USB-A output, specifically designed to power external streamers or network music players with a clean and stable power supply, reducing interference while simplifying system installation.
The construction quality of the Musical Fidelity M6xi is fully in line with its performance ambitions. Its highly rigid metal chassis, combined with front and side panels machined from extruded aluminum, provides excellent protection against vibrations and electromagnetic interference, effectively acting as a Faraday cage to preserve signal purity.
