Audio-Technica AT-LP5x – Manual belt-drive turntable with sensor-controlled speed (33/45/78 rpm)
Building on Audio-Technica’s analog heritage and over 50 years of Japanese audio design, the AT-LP5x brings updated technology while preserving the contemporary styling and acclaimed performance of its predecessor, the AT-LP5.
The LP5x retains the J-shaped tonearm, inspired by classic Audio-Technica models from the 1960s and 70s. Its metal gimbal suspension and high-precision bearings reduce tracking error and improve stability during playback. The arm features an adjustable counterweight and anti-skate control, and comes pre-fitted with the lightweight AT-HS6 headshell (9.3 g) and the AT-VM95E Dual Moving Magnet™ cartridge in black, with a replaceable stylus.
Built with damping and anti-vibration materials, the AT-LP5x is engineered to minimize low-frequency acoustic feedback. The die-cast aluminum platter, precisely machined, is driven by a quiet DC motor with belt drive and sensor-controlled speed, ensuring stable rotation at 33-1/3, 45 and 78 rpm. A 5 mm rubber mat helps reduce vibration and control bass response, providing a solid platform for every record.
The AT-LP5x includes a built-in switchable MM/MC phono/line preamp, allowing direct connection to amplifiers, powered speakers, audio interfaces or other devices with or without a dedicated phono input. The MM/MC selector makes upgrading to moving-coil cartridges easy, without needing an external phono stage. In addition, the USB output lets you digitize your vinyl collection directly to a computer.
An external power adapter handles the AC/DC conversion outside the chassis, reducing electrical noise and preserving the integrity of the analog signal.
