The FiiO DM15 R2R represents the culmination of FiiOs development in high fidelity portable CD players Building on the experience gained with the DM13 the brand has refined the design to create a slimmer more versatile and more sophisticated device capable of combining the classic character of CDs with modern functions such as USB DAC and Bluetooth transmission.
At the heart of the DM15 R2R is a fully differential in house designed R2R DAC created to recapture the warmth and organic character of classic CD players Thanks to its high precision resistor ladder it delivers a richly nuanced presentation with natural mids smooth treble and deep bass while preserving a realistic and musical harmonic structure.
The CD reading mechanism has been optimised for stable and reliable playback It features an improved alignment system with a self rebounding steel ball that makes disc insertion easier and reduces the risk of scratches together with a precise servo system and ESP electronic protection to ensure uninterrupted playback even in portable use.
In addition to working as a CD player the DM15 R2R functions as a high resolution USB DAC and as a Bluetooth transmitter offering an unusual level of versatility in its category Its analogue and digital outputs allow it to be integrated easily both in home HiFi systems and in demanding portable setups.
