ASTELL & KERN SE200 Leather Case
The unique curved part of the SE200 case is made by stretching the leather by hand to achieve a perfect fit.
The Buttero Belly leather used in the SE200 holster is made from the belly of the cow. This specific type of leather is used due to its finer qualities that make it more suitable for curved surfaces. The leather is produced from the finest French rawhides and undergoes a vegetable tanning process that creates not only a dense texture, but a smooth, soft surface. You can feel the superior quality of the leather with every touch.
Founded in 1973 in San Miniato, Tuscany, the Walpier tannery has been in business for three generations and has a long tradition of making leather products based on the vegetable tanning process. The tannery works with 100% cowhide leather imported from France and is a member of Vera Pelle, the Italian association of vegetable leather tanners.
The traditional vegetable tanning technology of the Walpier tannery has been passed down from father to son for centuries in the Tuscany region. The tanning process usually lasts 40 days, introducing the naturally tanned rawhide extracted from a variety of trees into a drum. It is a production method that is only practiced by Italian tanners in the world.
The leather products that undergo the vegetable tanning process vividly show the owner's lifestyle and make the products their own, as they take a long time to tan depending on the owner's handling.
