KEF LSX II LT: All-in-One Active Speakers for Streaming, TV and Desktop
The KEF LSX II LT is the more price/performance-focused take on the LSX concept: a compact active stereo system that combines amplification, DSP and streaming in a clean, easy-to-install setup with minimal cabling. It’s built for real HiFi sound on a desk, in a bedroom, or in a small-to-medium living room—no external amp required, with direct connections for TV and computer.
KEF sound in a compact format
11th-Gen Uni-Q: big stage, consistent listening
At the heart of LSX II LT is KEF’s Uni-Q driver array (tweeter mounted at the acoustic centre of the mid/bass driver), behaving like a point source. In practice, this helps to:
keep voices and dialogue firmly centred build a wide stereo image even off sweet spot stay coherent at short listening distances (ideal for desktop)
Drivers (per speaker)
Treble: 19 mm (0.75") aluminium dome tweeter
Mid/Bass: 115 mm (4.5") magnesium/aluminium alloy cone
Music Integrity Engine (MIE): more control, cleaner sound
KEF’s Music Integrity Engine is the DSP “brain” that manages phase, crossover integration and dynamic behaviour so the system stays balanced, separated and smooth—one of the reasons such a small system can sound “big” and orderly.
Real power and plenty of output
Amplification (per speaker)
Mid/Bass: 70 W (Class D)
Treble: 30 W (Class D)
Max SPL: 102 dB (1 m)
Plenty for typical home use on a desk and also in a small/medium room—unless you’re aiming for full “party mode”.
Frequency response (depending on EQ)
Range (-6 dB): 49 Hz – 47 kHz
Response (±3 dB): 54 Hz – 28 kHz
Bass extension is strong for the size, and you can add a sub for more depth and impact (especially for movies and games).
Streaming and control: very complete for its size
Wireless playback
AirPlay 2
Google Chromecast
UPnP
Bluetooth 5.0
Services (country dependent)
Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Amazon Music, Qobuz, Deezer, QQ Music (QPlay), plus internet radio and podcasts.
KEF Connect app
Used for initial setup, daily control, EQ/sound tuning, and firmware updates—what makes LSX II LT genuinely plug-and-play.
Network format support
DSD, FLAC, WAV, AIFF, ALAC, AAC, WMA, MP3, M4A, LPCM, Ogg Vorbis.
Connections: designed for TV and digital sources
Inputs
HDMI ARC (TV)
Optical TOSLINK
USB-C (great for computers)
Ethernet (RJ45)
USB-C inter-speaker link
Output
RCA subwoofer out
Important note: based on the specs you listed, this model is clearly oriented toward digital/streaming sources. If you need a true analogue line input (e.g., a phono preamp via RCA/3.5 mm), it’s worth confirming—because it’s not shown here.
Inter-speaker link
Wired link between speakers (USB-C)
All sources are resampled to PCM 96 kHz / 24-bit over the inter-speaker connection
Optional 8 m C-Link cable available for more flexible placement
Real-world integration
With a TV
HDMI ARC is the easiest solution for films/series: straightforward control and clean audio straight from the TV.
With a computer
USB-C is perfect on a desk: clean, direct, no extra interface needed.
With a subwoofer
The RCA sub out enables a serious 2.1 system: the sub handles the heavy bass, while LSX II LT gains headroom, scale and punch—highly recommended for movies/gaming or larger rooms.
Quick placement tips
Speaker spacing: 1.2–2.0 m (depending on listening distance)
Slight toe-in toward the listening position
Avoid corners if you want cleaner bass
On a desk: use supports/stands to isolate and bring the tweeter closer to ear height
Threaded inserts are included for the P1 desk stand and S1 floor stand.
