XLR Interconnection

It is the most commonly used balanced connector for professional audio applications, and it is also the standard connector used in spectacular lighting equipment to transmit the digital "DMX" control signal.

It has three pins and, in Europe, its usual connection for audio signals is as follows:

  1. for the earth or mesh.
  2. for the one-way signal, known as "live" or "hot".
  3. for the back or contraphase signal, known as "return" or "cold".
