The E-Glo I is a fully tube-based device that fuses state-of-the-art, sound-quality friendly technologies with methods that are highly appreciated by the more traditional enthusiast, such as point-to-point connections via cables. Thus, the new EAT incorporates a type of volume control that uses relay attenuators with separate blocks for each channel, a feature previously found only in considerably more expensive products. Another fundamental aspect is the transformer used in the output section of each channel, which has been meticulously designed in the E-Glo I. In this regard, the core of this critical component is made of Permalloy, an alloy composed of 20% iron and 80% nickel, with a high initial permeability that ensures superior inductance even at low signal levels, contributing to a more realistic bass reproduction at low volumes. At the same time, it allows the use of fewer windings, resulting in lower impedance and higher damping factor, which extends the range of compatible loudspeakers. In terms of circuit design, the E-Glo I stands out by employing a completely new topology in pure Class A, using KT-88 power valves, which also allows the user to switch instantly between ultralinear and triode modes of operation.
