The A&norma series was created to enjoy premium Astell&Kern sounds in a portable size with best-in-class specifications.

The SR25 MKII, the previous model in the series, was loved by audio enthusiasts and those just starting out on their personal audio journey thanks to its portable size and powerful Hi-Fi sound via a balanced 4.4mm connector.

The A&norma SR35 inherits these strengths while applying the amplifier and audio design that was applied to Astell&Kern's premium products to deliver the authentic sound quality that Astell&Kern is so well known for. The ultra-compact SR35 features 20 hours of continuous playback, support for Quad DAC and two-step gain control, and the A&Norm line's first introduction of next-generation amplifier technology with Astell&Kern's extensive know-how for an even more delicate and clearer treble sound. We have also applied our new UI/UX with improved visuals and ease of use to the Astell&Kern SR35 for a more immersive music experience. In addition to this, the SR35 is equipped with full Roon Ready decoder support and MQA to further enhance the performance of our A&norma line.

For the first time in the A&norma series, the SR35 player implements Cirrus Logic's CS43198 DAC in Quad DAC configuration. A very well received DAC praised for its excellent spatial sense and resolution.

In addition to this, a new audio circuit design has been implemented, incorporating Astell&kern's unique technologies together with the Quad DAC and our patented TERATON ALPHA technology to achieve an outstanding advance in dynamics, spatial feel, resolution and level separation. In addition, our latest technologically advanced amplifier circuitry, which was only available in our flagship products, has now been incorporated into the SR35 player, with a dramatically improved, industry-leading 130 dB Signal-to-Noise ratio.

A dual/quad DAC switching mode is offered, allowing users to adjust and improve power management efficiency, further enhancing the extended continuous playback time, a core feature of the A&Norm series.

The SR35 player supports native playback of DSD256 and PCM files up to 32-bit/384 kHz, allowing you to enjoy true Hi-Fi sound without restriction and distortion.

With this new technology, the SR35 contains the same amplifier design as the latest A&ultima and A&futura products, completely transforming it into an amplifier design worthy of premium audio, from OP AMP selection to component placement and circuit design.

In addition, to reliably handle different output source impedances, the current handling capability at the output end is increased to maximise the performance of multiple devices with an SR35.

2-step gain mode for the perfect Hi-Fi experience

For perfect use of sensitive IEM in-ear headphones and difficult-to-drive headphones, a device must provide adequate output, according to the specifications of the connected device.

The SR35 player supports a 2-step gain level mode to create the perfect match for a wide range of headphones and in-ear monitor IEM headphones, while maintaining optimum sound output.

The 2-step gain setting with "Normal Gain" and "High Gain" modes can generate high current output to create powerful sound and excellent control of the headphone drivers.

With up to 6 Vrms output on balanced connections, driving high impedance headphones has never been easier.

The SR35 player comes with a redesigned Crimson-themed UI/UX that transforms into a "real music player" for users to deeply connect with their music listening experience.

The new UI/UX is designed to allow users to quickly browse music categories and rediscover songs within their music library.

We also added a simple album art search function so users can rediscover the pleasure of viewing and interacting with music album art while listening to their music.

The crimson theme focuses on the keywords of edge, simplicity and dark mode. The black theme with red highlights reduces visual fatigue and offers intuitive user experiences, and many other improvements were made to the device's usability of the app service, artist view, album sorting and album art search function.

Roon Ready, available on some premium audio products, now comes with the A&norma series for the first time, giving you a networked audio system controlled by the SR35 player for the best sound quality.

In addition, it supports the full MQA 8X decoder so the SR35 can play and stream high-fidelity MQA sound natively, true to A&norma's concept of playing original sounds anywhere, anytime.

The SR35 player offers dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4/5 GHz), providing enhanced network performance for enjoying Hi-Fi music through various streaming services and Roon Ready.

Native DSD

ReplayGain automatically and evenly adjusts the playback volume

ReplayGain has been applied, which adjusts sound sources with different volumes to an identical level. Now, enjoy your own playlists seamlessly through the ReplayGain function in SR35.

AK File Drop for wireless transfer enjoyment

The new AK File Drop function on the SR35 makes file transfers easier and more convenient. With AK File Drop, you can freely transfer files wirelessly via a PC, smartphone or FTP programme located on the same network. Music file management is now possible with a wireless and cable-free solution.

High-fidelity wireless sound via BT Sink

The BT Sink function connects the SR35 to an external device via Bluetooth, similar to connecting a smartphone with a BT speaker. Music from an external device, such as a smartphone, can now be played in high quality on the SR35 using the BT Sink function.

MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) is an award-winning British technology that delivers the sound of the original master recording.

Design

The SR35 portable reproducer visualises the powerful portability of the A&norma series in its design.

The intense dynamics of the A&norma series is symbolised as the sword and shield of a mighty warrior on the device. The single bold line on the side and the enlarging surface at the bottom represent a battle sword, and the delicately refined volume control and its concave surface symbolise a shield. These symbolic shapes found in the design of the Astell&Kern SR35 represent the powerful strength and characteristic of a warrior.

An "A" pattern on the rear glass creates a sophisticated rectangular pattern. This unique pattern on the SR35 player symbolises the first use of Quad DAC architecture in the A&norma series.

We kept our iconic angular display that works perfectly in the hand, further redefining the features of the series.
