When it came time to upgrade the Sabrina, Daryl and his team were faced with a conundrum: how could they upgrade a speaker already loved for its supreme musicality? His first goal was to preserve Sabrina's inherent affability and audibility. Looking for ways to improve Sabrina, Daryl drew directly from his latest project, the Chronosonic XVX. With those tools in hand, Daryl built an already great platform into a speaker with even greater musicality, while at the same time improving its transient speed, resolution, intimacy, and transparency. The SabrinaX is a rethinking of the Sabrina, perhaps the most universally loved of Wilson's small floorstanding speakers for decades. The original Sabrina attracted a loyal, almost cult following. It was a rare combination of traditional Wilson virtues such as musical authority, dynamic resolution, midrange beauty and integrity, and an inherent sense of musical "rightness." This list of achievements and qualities would be rare for any speaker. When considering the Sabrina's compact size and relative affordability, it becomes obvious why so many audiophiles and music lovers admire the Sabrina. The design goal of SabrinaX was to preserve the original model's inherent friendliness, flexibility, and uncanny technical prowess while, at the same time,

The original Sabrina used X-Material only on her deflector and lower spike plate. Now SabrinaX's outer enclosure is constructed entirely of X-Material. The SabrinaX cabinet comes much closer to the near-silent ideal that Wilson has consistently pursued for decades. The music emerges through SabrinaX from a blacker background. Bass transient performance and clarity have been greatly improved. Listeners will hear a higher "rest between the notes", which, among other factors, improves Sabrina's timing and rhythm.

Drivers.

Wilson's tweeter combines ultra-low distortion, micro and macro contrast, and high resolution with a sense of ease, accessibility, and supreme musicality. Technically and musically, the MK5 remains the most honest and engaging tweeter we've ever experienced. When the inherently excellent dynamic resolution and transient performance of the new woofers are combined with the SabrinaX's more inert cabinet, the result is ultra-fast, articulate midbass and a solid, authoritative bass foundation.

AudioCapX.

The first design to benefit from the recent integration of Wilson's design and capacitor manufacturer at the Provo, Utah factory was the Chronosonic XVX. Led by engineer Vern Credille, the design team developed a proprietary multi-coil capacitor specifically for the XVX, which the engineers dubbed the Wilson AudioCapX-WA. The team took a similar approach with the smallest of Wilson's floor stands. Now the SabrinaX crossover benefits from a version of the Wilson AudioCapX specific to your needs. New condenser technology significantly reduces ground noise to even higher extremes, allowing the listener to hear more detail and resolution.

The new model uses the same Wilson designed and built mailbox as the XVX. It's easier to hand-tighten, and also has a banana plug option. This unique connector from Wilson Audio resets the bar for reliability and sonic integrity for high-current connections.
