Compact, amplified bass box

The Sub 1000 F bass subwoofer is designed for use in home cinema systems in the true Focal tradition.

As a concentrate of technology, this subwoofer incorporates a 30 cm diameter bass speaker with Flax sandwich membrane. The stiffness and lightness characteristics of this environmentally friendly linen fabric enable the production of an extremely well-defined and distortion-free sound. Its dual magnet motor provides excellent power, ensuring exemplary linearity.

The Sub 1000 F includes a powerful 1000 watt BASH® amplifier, which allows the 30 cm speaker to express its full potential.

Finally, the subwoofer's construction guarantees an extended bass response, great compactness and the elimination of parasitic noise, delivering a pure and harmonious sound.

This subwoofer has all the qualities to effortlessly and faithfully reproduce your film soundtracks, and integrates proudly with the speakers of the Aria 900 series!

The neutrality of linen

The speaker membrane of this subwoofer uses Flax technology. Flax is an environmentally friendly fabric with surprising structural properties, specially adapted for acoustic reproduction: it is light, rigid and has a good damping capacity. Flax membranes offer greater tonal neutrality and better sound definition.

Derived from the Flax cones developed for the Aria 900 speaker series, the woofer diaphragm of the Sub 1000 F features an innovative, even stiffer construction: two layers of 160 g/m² glass fibre and a 250 g/m² linen core. This allows it to cope with the demands of use in a bass cabinet.

An optimised loudspeaker

The Sub 1000 F subwoofer also features a motor/coil assembly optimised to keep the coil temperature as low as possible. This ensures a well-articulated bass, improved dynamics and significant SPL power (103.5 dB / 1 m @ 40Hz). Focal's R&D team has designed a specific spider/suspension assembly for the Sub 1000 F, perfectly controlling the dynamic behaviour of the moving assembly and achieving always controlled bass, even with intense variations (up to 43 mm).
