The second model in Astell & Kern's “premium” A & futura portable player range, the A & futura SE200 is a sophisticated product managed by an eight-core processor that stands out for incorporating an unprecedented innovation: the use of dual-core D / A converters (DACs). different manufacturers, specifically the Californian ESS Technology and the Japanese Asahi Kasei Microdevices (AKM). In accordance with this architecture, the SE200 does not include a single amplification circuit, but two - and also with a spectacular output level in both balanced and unbalanced modes - each of them having been optimized for the particular characteristics of the mentioned DACs , named ESS9068 and AK4499EQ respectively. In this way, the user can select any one of said DACs to have two different sound "signatures" depending on the theme or musical genre that he is listening to. Another key element of the A & futura SE200 is the use of ceramic materials in an industrial design that freely blends beautiful curves and straight lines, as if it were a work of art, through the use of very high precision tools. Thus, in the front and rear areas of the new Astell & Kern ceramic is used instead of the usual glass material, in order to create a unique visual experience by directing the light to flow around the device.
