Special version of the opulent Reference 250, the Audio Research Reference 250 SE is a monophonic reference power stage whose starting point is the sensational SG150 power stage - pertaining to the Galileo Series of the US firm - and the power valves of Latest generation incorporating the KT150.
The exceptional musicality of the GS150 made it a lot of fans and critics from around the world to contact Audio Research to explore the possibility of incorporating the aforementioned KT150 valves into Reference Series models. Still unsatisfied with the mere change of the output valves, Audio Research engineers also decided to incorporate substantial improvements - both active and passive components as well as circuits - in the Reference 250 in order to fully exploit the potential Advantages of the change made.
