Description
Integrated in the elite LAB range of Final, whose ambitious motto is "to create things never seen before", the LAB II are exquisite intrarural earphones equipped with beautiful helmets whose complex geometry can only be obtained using a sophisticated 3D printer that, by the Moment, it only exists in Japan. At the electro-acoustic level, LAB IIs are also exceptional, to the extent that in their approach they had to face very remarkable challenges because, from the outset, the use of a large diameter open electrodynamic transducer made difficult the extension of the frequency response Required at the lower and upper ends of the spectrum. Again, the use of 3D printing made it possible to find the solution by creating a mechanical equalizer, an impossible way to model using conventional methods and in this case allowed to substantially improve the response to high frequencies. On the other hand, the posterior half of the helmets of the LAB II are completely open, a duct designed to prevent interference in the sound emitted by the anterior and posterior zones of the diaphragm has been incorporated in the front part thereof, Thus the response to low frequencies. Also, the mesh structure applied to the outer shell of the helmets allowed a very small space to be created between the ear canal and the same, which in turn contributes to obtaining a very natural sound scene free of stagnation.
From the refinement and complexity of the LAB II there is also the fact that only 200 units will be manufactured for everyone - at the Final Headquarters in Kawasaki, Japan - and that the loudspeaker they incorporate is a 15 mm electrodynamic design Of diameter specifically developed for them.
