Description
The first headphone amplifier with built-in DAC mode from Marantz, the HD-DAC1 can even tackle high-impedance audiophile-grade headphones (up to 600 ohms) without any problems, while having full functionality thanks to its gain control. Three levels to Marantz's HDAM-SA2 modules, a high-quality audio-output grade D / A converter (CS4398) and high-quality fixed and variable analog outputs equipped with RCA connectors. In this way, the apparatus can be connected directly to an integrated amplifier, a pair of active loudspeakers or to a power stage. It also has very generous connectivity, with coaxial and optical digital inputs, as well as a USB-B port, which allow the user to play music directly from their PC or Mac. It is also possible to connect Apple's i-devices through the port USB port on the front panel. The USB-B input works in asynchronous mode to support not only high-resolution 24-bit / 192 kHz audio but also DSD-encoded files with sampling frequencies of 2'8 MHz and 5'6 MHz.
