A timeless design to honor a legendary classical music institution

Tribute to the 175th anniversary of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the 175 The Vienna Philharmonic Recordplayer is an aristocratic and refined turntable that has the particularity of having been built with materials common to musical instruments. Thus, the wooden chassis and the lacquered finish correspond to a violin, while the gold metal chassis is based on wind instruments and the armrest is inspired by the reed of a clarinet.

Even the button for starting and changing the speed of rotation comes from a flute. At the engineering level, the 175 The Vienna Philharmonic Recordplayer is inspired by the solutions used in the celebrated The Classic although, as it cannot be otherwise in such a special product, "corrected and augmented". This means that the Pro-Ject design team has improved every single technical detail of the aforementioned The Classic, from the TPE-based "suspension" system, to the tolerances of the platter rotation system, readout and traction motor components.

Regarding the arm, it is worth noting the use of an elegant “S” design with a dynamically balanced aluminum body and brass capsule holder, a material widely used in wind instruments. And when it comes to speed control, high-precision circuitry is used that allows it to present extremely low drift (+/-0.13% at 33 rpm and +/-0.1% at 45 rpm) , which directly results in sound quality by facilitating the work of the capsule.

It should also be noted that the 175 The Vienna Philharmonic Recordplayer is supplied as standard with a refined dedicated moving coil (MC) pickup cartridge, the Ortofon 175, whose technology is directly inspired by that used in the models of the prestigious Cadenza range of the already centennial Danish manufacturer. Of the new and exclusive Pro-Ject turntable, it should also be noted that it is manufactured exclusively by hand and takes two months to complete, supplied in a spectacular natural wood box.
