REGA Apheta 2. Moving Coil Cartridge (MC)
The Apheta 2 is the second generation of Rega's unique moving coil capsules. Taking the technology developed for the first Apheta to the next level, our engineers have refined every aspect of the original design. The Apheta 2 features a very powerful neodymium magnet and a meticulously hand-wound coil on an iron cross that is fifty percent smaller than the original.

The Apheta 2 is the second generation of Rega's unique moving coil capsules. Taking the technology developed for the first Apheta to the next level, our engineers have refined every aspect of the original design. The Apheta 2 features a very powerful neodymium magnet and a meticulously hand-wound coil on an iron cross that is fifty percent smaller than the original. This weight reduction ensures greater freedom to follow the groove of the vinyl, ensuring that even more detail is extracted from the vinyl. To improve the design even further, the Apheta 2 is housed in a completely redesigned, one-piece anodised aluminium body and is protected by a computer-designed, transparent hard cover to protect the thin internal cables; picking it up to adjust it will now pose no danger. The entire production department was overhauled, at great expense, to introduce the Apheta 2 MC. Major investments in magnifying cameras and high definition monitors have allowed us to work with much more detail and tighter tolerances than the original model. The Apheta 2 is the perfect companion to the RP8 and RP10 turntables, which can be ordered factory assembled at a special price.
