Furutech's floating field damping system

Magnetic Floating Field Damping: Current flowing through a cable and its connector creates magnetic (and electrostatic) fields around it, building and collapsing 60 times per second on 120V AC systems. This magnetic field induces the flow of current (electrical potential) in small parts like the screws that hold the connector housing together, which must be metal for a firm hold. The current flow in these small parts actually creates "floating" magnetic fields around them, and they interfere with the larger surrounding magnetic field of the cable/connector, causing noise and distortion.

The Furutech Floating Field Snubber solves the biggest problem you never realized you had by star grounding metal parts where floating magnetic fields are induced by current flow. All of the various metal parts of the connector are bonded together and shunt any generated electrical potential to ground. This significantly reduces noise by reducing distortion for stable, ultra-clean power transfer.
