BADALASSI CARLO Leather:
The Badalassi Carlo tannery, founded by CARLO BADALASSI, who is also a teacher at a leather school in the Santa Croce region, has been producing leather for over 40 years. Integrating the traditional method of vegetable leather processing developed in Tuscany with its unique theory and technology, Badalassi Carlo stands out for its commitment to eco-friendly leather manufacturing, using tannins extracted from plants in a process that takes time to complete.
CONCERIA WALPIER Leather:
Founded in 1973 in San Miniato, Tuscany, Italy, Walpier Tannery is a tannery with three generations of experience in manufacturing leather products using highly regarded vegetable tanning processes. Using only raw hides imported from France, the tannery follows the Tuscan tradition of vegetable tanning handed down from generation to generation for centuries. The tanning process, which takes approximately 40 days, is a practice unique to Italian tanners.
Navy Case [Buttero]:
KANN ULTRA's navy blue case uses Walpier's Buttero leather, which is made by milling the leather for a smooth, natural surface. Buttero, made from the finest French hides, is distinguished by its dense texture and smooth surface. Thanks to Walpier's vegetable tanning method, Buttero leather exhibits excellent colour, a perfect surface finish and high scratch resistance, allowing manufacturers to take advantage of the leather's original texture without the problems associated with other vegetable processes.
Black case [Minerva]:
Minerva leather, unlike Minerva Box, is a smooth un-milled leather. Initially it appears matte, but over time, the colour intensifies and the sheen increases, revealing a change that is seen and felt with continued use. Minerva is a vegetable tanned leather with the unique Vacchetta method from Tuscany, which develops a natural shine and deepens the colour over time, as it lacks artificial surface coatings.
