VM95 Series - Stylus Compatibility

Every diamond stylus in a capsule wears after a period of work.

Around 500 hours for a conical stylus, 300 hours for an elliptical stylus, 1000 hours for a Microlinear stylus, and 800 hours for a Shibata stylus.

Our VM95 series dual moving magnet cartridges can be used virtually forever if the interchangeable stylus is replaced. It is no longer necessary to purchase a full capsule when the diamond tip has been worn down; you just have to purchase the right replacement stylus, but you can also enjoy the experience of upgrading your cartridge with a different stylus.

The six capsule models that make up the V95 series use the same electromagnetic motor body, therefore each of the six replacement needles is perfectly compatible:

The XP-series electromagnetic body-motor is fully compatible with all VM95-series replacement styli and delivers a higher output voltage than the VM95-series cartridge. This improves compatibility with the phono inputs of professional DJ mixers.

The VM95 series' electromagnetic motor-body is also compatible with the three replacement styli on the AT-XP series DJ cartridges; in any case, the XP-series electromagnetic body-motor will deliver a higher output voltage than the VM95-series cartridge, in order to offer better compatibility with the phono inputs of professional DJ mixers.

Remember that the typical tracking force when using the XP series styli is three grams, instead of two grams for the VM95 series styli.

The XP-series stylus suspension design and compliance has been optimized for heavy use by DJs, including possible hand-picking and back-and-forth movement.

Glued conical needle

The advantage of the conical stylus, even when the cartridge is "tilted", is that the spherical surface of this stylus touches the groove of vinyl records precisely.

Does not use nuts

The VM95 series cartridges feature two M2.6 threaded inserts that allow the cartridge to be installed on the tonearm or a detachable headstock, without the use of nuts. Each capsule includes a pair of 8mm M2.6 screws, a pair of 11mm M2.6 screws, and two plastic washers.
