AT-VM95EN incorporates a bare elliptical stylus. The stylus construction, consisting of a piece of diamond with a round shank inserted into the cantilever, creates a lightweight and more rigid drive system than a diamond tip glued onto a round titanium shank, as is the case with the AT-VM95E. In addition, the use of a bare diamond means a substantial difference in price, although the quality of reproduction will be immediately apparent, specifically in the high-frequency fidelity and quality of transient response.

Compatibility of the AT-VM9E series with the AT-XP series DJ cartridges.

The XP series electromagnetic motor body is fully compatible with all VM95 series replacement styli and delivers a higher output voltage than the VM95 series cartridge. This improves compatibility with the phono inputs of professional DJ mixers.

The VM95 series electromagnetic body-motor is also compatible with the three replacement styli of the AT-XP series DJ cartridges; in either case, the XP series electromagnetic body-motor will deliver a higher output voltage than the VM95 series cartridge, in order to provide better compatibility with the phono inputs of professional DJ mixers.

Remember that the typical tracking force when using XP series needles is three grams, as opposed to two grams for VM95 series needles.

Bare elliptical stylus.

The elliptical diamond stylus follows the groove modulation more accurately compared to the conical stylus, offering better frequency and phase response while reducing distortion.

No nuts are used.

The VM95 series capsules incorporate two M2.6 threaded inserts, allowing the capsule to be installed on the arm or on a detachable head without the use of nuts. Each cartridge includes one pair of 8 mm M2.6 screws, one pair of 11 mm M2.6 screws and two plastic washers.
