The AT-VM95EN/H is a VM95 series cartridge/head assembly consisting of the AT-VM95EN bare elliptical stylus stereo cartridge mounted on an AT-HS6BK head. The total weight of the assembly is 15.5 grams and it is assembled and tested at the Audio-Technica factory in Fukui, Japan.

VM95 Series - Stylus Compatibility

Every diamond stylus in a capsule wears out after a period of work.

Around 500 hours for a conical stylus, 300 hours for an elliptical stylus, 1000 hours for a Microlinear stylus, and 800 hours for a Shibata stylus.

Our VM95 series dual moving magnet cartridges can be used virtually forever if the interchangeable stylus is replaced. It is no longer necessary to purchase a full capsule when the diamond tip has been worn down; you just have to purchase the right replacement stylus, but you can also enjoy the experience of upgrading your cartridge with a different stylus.

The six capsule models that make up the VM95 series use the same electromagnetic motor body, therefore each of the six replacement needles is perfectly compatible:

The elliptical diamond stylus follows the groove modulation more precisely compared to the conical stylus, offering better frequency and phase response while reducing distortion.
