The Optimum is the fourth of IsoTek's high performance network cables to be upgraded to the new EVO3 (Evolution 3) version. As a consequence of this, we are facing a product that incorporates substantial advances with respect to its predecessor, that is, the celebrated GII version, especially highlighting the new layout of the conductors, which, in combination with carefully selected materials, has made it possible to obtain a cable power supply with superlative performance. Thus, at the heart of the new Optimum are three silver-clad Ohno Continuous Cast (OCC) copper conductors, which exhibit considerably higher purity levels compared to conventional high-purity copper (OFC). The benefits this brings to audio and video applications are outstanding electrical conductivity combined with improved flexibility and resistance to fatigue and corrosion. On the other hand, each of the three conductors used uses a new and innovative square configuration of 40 strands, which, in turn, also have a square section. This unique design provides a larger contact surface between strands, further improving electrical conductivity. To all this must be added a high quality insulation (Teflon FEP) for each conductor that provides a very low dielectric constant over a wide range of frequencies. Also, the three conductors are lightly twisted to maximize rejection of electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI), and then they are surrounded by a cotton padding which, in addition to increasing internal resistance and reducing microphonics, also has superb insulating properties. The EVO3 Optimum is completed with a highly robust, heat-resistant PVC outer sheath that provides a high degree of flexibility and great mechanical strength.
