What really sets LeadingEdge acoustic panels apart from other domestic acoustic products is their streamlined approach. Unlike conventional treatments (which focus exclusively on the pressure domain), these panels work on aerodynamic principles when the sound wave is in the velocity domain, smoothing and calming the airflow in the room. This has two key implications:

- By adding resistance to the movement of air particles, acoustic panels are effective over a wide range of frequencies, acting as a single device that addresses the entire spectrum of audible frequencies.

- By exponentially damping the velocity of air particles, they effectively self-compensate and act only where an acoustic problem occurs, thus avoiding overcompensation.

Despite their simple appearance, the panels feature thousands of micro-perforations with a honeycomb cellular structure on the back, the result of complex and precise production technology and mathematical calculations.

Lightweight and highly versatile, they offer a variety of fixed or even portable solutions to acoustic problems.

Location and mounting

Because LeadingEdge acoustic panels operate in the velocity domain, they defy conventional expectations about their location. Unlike most acoustic treatments that concentrate in the corners of the room where pressure changes are greatest, these panels work best in areas where the velocity of air particles is greatest. Therefore, they are generally placed at intermediate points near the room boundaries. They can be surface mounted or suspended from the ceiling for best performance.

Size and colour options

LeadingEdge acoustic panels are available in single or double-sided versions in three standard sizes: 600mm x 1.6m, 600mm x 1.1m and 600mm x 800mm. They are sold in pairs with feet included as standard, and wall and ceiling mounting kits are available at an additional cost. Three standard colours are offered: white, light oak and cherry, while other colours and finishes are available to special order.
