The Pedestal is Wilson Audio Special Applications Engineering's (WSAE) solution for near-perfect vibration isolation and, in essence, a device that systematically reduces musically destructive vibrations. The small element that it incorporates in its lower area partially absorbs the vibrations that travel from the lower surface of any audio component. The energy then travels into the Pedestal's non-magnetic stainless steel casing, where the mass and solidity of the stainless steel material converts unwanted energy into heat. Where other manufacturers use low-quality magnetic steel in their insulation sleeves, Wilson commits to metals that possess superior vibration attenuation characteristics as well as the ability to minimize electronic interactions of supported components. For its part, the absorbent element inside the Pedestal -Material V- provides the next level of excellence in vibration reduction. Combined with a unique viscous absorbent material inside the Pedestal, the V-Material acts like a spring to minimize, absorb and dissipate vibrations as heat. Also, when weight is applied to the Pedestal, the internal Material V element is decoupled, along with the other critical elements of the assembly, from the stainless steel exterior.
