Material Combination

BERYLLIUM AND FLAX (LINEN)

For the first time, a speaker with a Flax (linen) sandwich membrane paired with a beryllium tweeter! Linen meets essential requirements: low mass, rigidity, and damping, resulting in clarity and sound precision. This unique combination of Flax (linen) and beryllium brings incredible warmth and musicality to the music. Manufactured in France and patented, the linen membrane has already proven its effectiveness in Focal speakers for home and automotive use. The midrange speaker incorporates the TMD (Tuned Mass Damper) suspension, and all Kanta speakers are equipped with the NIC (Neutral Inductance Circuit) motor, stabilizing the magnetic field for perfectly defined sound and better-controlled bass.

Cabinet Craftsmanship

HIGH-DENSITY POLYMER

Everything has been meticulously designed to add smoothness and warmth to the sound: the density and rigidity of the front and casing materials, gentle angles, and dual ventilation. The front is crafted from a new acoustically favorable material, molded into a single block of high-density polymer (HDP - High-Density Polymer), a material that offers significant performance: it is 70% denser than MDF, 15% more rigid, and provides 25% more damping. The single-block front eliminates any sound diffraction phenomenon. Kanta incorporates Power Flow technology with two vents, located on the front and rear, to limit compression in the bass.

New Tweeter

DISTORTION, THE MAIN ENEMY

Focal's research focuses on reducing distortion in all registers, the main enemy of emotion in music. In Kanta, the high-frequency range is reproduced by a new pure beryllium tweeter. This IAL 3 tweeter combines the principles of IAL (Infinite Acoustic Loading) and IHL (Infinite Horn Loading) tweeters, favoring wave absorption to reduce the tweeter's frequency.

Style

ESSENTIAL.

Engineers have once again opted for "Focus Time," which corrects the alignment of the speakers, placed at the same distance from the ear. The rear casing of the cabinet is made in a single piece of molded wood. The zamac crosspiece adds a lot of character. With its spikes and domes, the stand provides great stability with minimal floor occupancy. Final details: the glass plate on top and the magnetic port holes. Removing them reveals the linen membrane of the speakers, the final design touch that gives Kanta its unique look!

Each of them can be paired with four frontal colors in two finishes. With High Gloss black casing: 4 frontals (Carrara White, Gauloise Blue, Solar Yellow, Black Lacquer) with High Gloss finish. With the wood finish casing: 4 frontals (Ivory, Warm Taupe, Gauloise Blue, Dark Grey) with matte finish.
