The mid-range model of the columns in the revamped Motion Series is also the most affordable of the three-way configurations. Like the other models in the range to which it belongs, the Motion 40i is the consequence of a success directly attributable to its relationship with MartinLogan's legendary electrostatic baffles, being the result of the American company's desire to transmit their level of performance to a more traditional and affordable loudspeaker. Very slim, with dimensions that make it easy to install in any room by occupying a very small floor space and equipped with a 3-way/4-speaker bass-reflex configuration, the Motion 40i stands out first and foremost for featuring one of MartinLogan's iconic "Folded Motion" tweeters, Its diaphragm combines minimal mass with a folding structure that allows it to have 8-10 times the surface area of a conventional dome, with all that this entails in terms of frequency response curve extension, accuracy, power handling capability and speed of response, all with virtually zero distortion. The Motion 40i is completed by a unique MartinLogan midrange and two bass speakers - all with aluminium cone -, an audiophile-grade crossover filter and an elegant, anti-resonant cabinet construction with reinforced front panel.
