The MC6-HT is the angled version of the MC6. By designing the speaker with a fixed angle of the tweeter and woofer, MartinLogan has been able to tune the speaker's performance much more precisely than universal pivot designs. By eliminating the variable angle of the tweeter and woofer, the Vojtko precision crossover network has been tuned for more accurate and predictable results. The MC6-HT is recommended for applications where the listener will spend most of their time not being directly under the loudspeaker.

All MartinLogan Motion CI Series loudspeakers feature our signature Folded Motion Tweeter, or FMT. This innovative piece of audio technology provides incredible detail, precise clarity, clean output, and high efficiency in a small but powerful package. Combining this tweeter with the lightweight fiberglass woofers means Motion CI delivers a clean, balanced sound that's perfectly suited to any application. Whether you're listening to music, movies, or a little bit of everything, Motion CI gives you a true high-end audio experience at an affordable price. To complete the assortment, pre-build brackets are available for all models, and all in-ceiling models have square grilles and retrofit rear enclosures available separately.

The sound of invisibility:

Folded Motion® tweeters.

MartinLogan's Folded Motion tweeter uses an extremely low-mass diaphragm that "squeezes" air, requiring significantly less excursion than the typical 1-inch dome tweeter. Its folded design allows for a much larger surface area (compared to that of a typical 1-inch dome tweeter), controlled dispersion characteristics, and incredibly low distortion. It's a miracle of audio engineering, delivering much of the high-frequency detail, speed, and response of a large, dynamic electrostatic panel in a small footprint.

This thin film transducer design packs all the precision and finesse of an electrostatic panel into a small footprint. Folding the spectacularly lightweight film into an accordion-shaped structure increases surface area, giving Folded Motion tweeters eight to ten times the surface area of typical tweeters. This ideal combination of lightness and size produces superior accuracy, greater frequency bandwidth, and higher output capacity; all with faster, more efficient transient response and virtually zero distortion. In these characteristics, the Folded Motion Tweeter design can mimic the performance of a large electrostatic panel within the confines of a more traditional loudspeaker enclosure.

Woven fiberglass cones.

All Motion CI loudspeakers feature lightweight woven fiberglass cones, engineered specifically for their application, that blend seamlessly with the lightning-fast performance of our signature Folded Motion Tweeter. Whichever Motion CI loudspeaker you choose for your room, rest assured that they are designed to provide a consistently high level of performance and can be easily used with other MartinLogan loudspeakers to make it easy to create the perfect system for your unique listening space.

Spring-loaded connection terminals.

With easy wiring access, our spring-loaded binding posts feature a large 4.5mm wire access hole and connect via a 12AWG banana plug, jack or bare wire.

Microperforated grids.

The MC6-HT features ultra-low profile, paintable, micro-perforated grilles with no visible bezel for nearly invisible integration into any wall or ceiling. A series of powerful magnets hidden inside the speaker quickly lock the grilles into place, reducing the risk of distortion or damage during installation. Optional square grilles are available for the MC6-HT.

Vojtko™ patented crossover nets.

Vojtko crossover networks are named after MartinLogan's chief audio technologist, Joe Vojtko.

His unique approach to crossover design is as crucial to MartinLogan's Truth in Sound as are our innovative Folded Motion thin-film and electrostatic transducer technologies. A Vojtko crossover isn't just a set of design requirements; it is a philosophy.

Vojtko crossovers are built by hand with the highest quality components and avoid overly complex topologies. This crossover has a simple goal: impressive realism.

Hand selected components.

When designing each crossover topology, we take into account the transducers themselves. Carefully selected drivers, designed for specific performance characteristics, are kept within their optimal frequency range by the custom Vojtko crossover.

Each crossover is handcrafted with exceptional polypropylene and polyester capacitors, oversized steel rolled custom wound low DCR inductors, and double-thick PCBs. This precisely tuned network preserves even the most microscopic sonic nuances while handling all the dynamics of any source. It's a recipe for incredibly low distortion and seamless driver integration.

The most critical aspect of the design of a Vojtko crossover is the final voicing, always done in a real environment. This uniquely pragmatic approach ensures that even the most amazing MartinLogan loudspeakers deliver true sound in any room, including yours.

Optional adaptation enclosure.

All Motion CI in-ceiling loudspeakers have the option of a retrofit enclosure or back box. This helps contain sound coming out of the back of the speaker to drastically reduce unwanted sound that can travel through the floor and into the living space above the speaker. For those who want more bass output, or for when sound monitoring is not required, you can choose to simply use the MC6-HT without the optional enclosure so that you can take full advantage of the increased volume of air provided by the space in the cabinet. the ceiling.
