The Classic 98 showcases a sleek profile as an active subwoofer, with its roots tracing back to the iconic late '90s designs of REL Acoustics, specifically conceived for music reproduction in stereo systems. It features a classic-style sealed enclosure, finished with an elegant layer of walnut wood, serving as a calling card for this product that masterfully harmonizes cutting-edge technology with craftsmanship.
At the core of this device is a 254 mm diameter paper cone driver, crafted in the traditional REL Acoustics style through hot pressing and air-dried paper dust cap. The butyl rubber peripheral suspension contributes to achieving the distinctive sound characteristic of the brand's most revered models. Strategically placed in the bottom area of the enclosure, this transducer seamlessly integrates, backed by a powerful Class D amplifier of 300 continuous watts. This allows for outstanding power handling capability, extensive dynamic bass response, and tonal precision without sacrificing the attractive competitive pricing of the ensemble.
