Lyngdorf's CS-2 is a compact full-range loudspeaker designed specifically for discreet placement inside cabinets such as base units, sideboards and TV furniture. For this purpose, the CS-2 is constructed with the front bass reflex, while the tweeter is mounted high and at an angle. This special placement of the tweeter reduces sound diffractions from the edges of the furniture inside the room and also improves the radiation of sound into the listening area.
While the design and shape of the raised tweeter is useful in most furniture, it fits perfectly in the Danish Clic audio/video furniture with its elegant fabric doors.
Best sound performance
The Lyngdorf CS-2 is based on the same midrange transducer and tweeter as the CS-1 in a narrower but taller cabinet, achieving the same sonic performance. Thanks to the front bass reflex and a linear frequency range down to 42 Hz, the CS-2 does not need the support of a subwoofer. The powerful 6.5" midrange driver is designed with a very strong magnet and, together with the bass reflex, the low-frequency performance is surprisingly powerful in such a small enclosure.
The speaker cone is made of aluminium, extremely light and rigid, and is designed with a well-defined single breakpoint, which is easy to counteract in the internal filters. The textile soft dome tweeter, with its special raised and angled placement, provides both clarity and an impressive soundstage, even when the speaker is placed inside a side panel or cabinet.
Made for inside cabinets
Designed for placement inside cabinets and furniture, the CS-2 is a solid MDF construction with a durable, easy-to-clean matte black lacquer finish. Self-adhesive rubber pads are supplied with the speaker to prevent scratches on the cabinet surface and to absorb resonance between the cabinet and speaker.
The CS-2 comes without front grille to allow the clearest sound performance, e.g. behind fabric doors of TV furniture.
