The Falcon LS3/5a Gold Badge loudspeaker is a true classic LS3/5a 15 Ω speaker. It continues the long British tradition of the genuine LS3/5a, licensed by the BBC, dating back to the 1960s.

Tradition and performance

Fully licensed by the BBC and hand-assembled by Falcon in Oxford, England, it is the only LS3/5a loudspeaker in production that faithfully recreates the original BBC design published in October 1976. The Falcon LS3/5a Gold Badge loudspeaker is a true classic 15 Ω LS3/5a, continuing the long British tradition of the genuine LS3/5a, licensed by the BBC, dating back to the 1960s.

The transducers used are the famous Falcon B110 (woofer) and Falcon T27 (tweeter) transducers, both designed by Malcolm Jones, original designer of the legendary KEF B110 and T27 of the 1960s. Classified by the BBC in the first version of the LS3 loudspeaker /5a of 15 Ω, are exclusive to Falcon and identical to the original units. They are hand built in the UK and guaranteed to be the highest quality Falcon rated speakers.

The 15 Ω filter (BBC specification FL6/23), is made exclusively by Falcon in the original BBC style, including inductors specifically designed for Falcon in Great Britain.

Baltic Ply cabinets are handcrafted from select gauge plywood. Manufactured in Great Britain to BBC specifications, they are available in a walnut finish with natural wood veneers. The front grille is made of black nylon “Nylon Tygan Cloth”.
