Trenner & Friedl Review por Audiohum

Trenner & Friedl Sun. Analysis and live sound test.

Trenner & Friedl is an Austrian loudspeaker manufacturer that is characterized by the use of organic materials in the making of its products. The range of this Austrian manufacturer consists of 9 speaker models, the smallest and cheapest being the one that concerns us in this review.

It is a small size monitor, configured in bass-reflex through 4 perfectly machined holes in the rear panel. The enclosure has been made following the golden ratios and the brand's philosophy of exclusively using organic materials, in the case of birch plywood of different densities and internal damping with sheep's wool, with the aim of minimizing resonances and waves. stationary. It uses a coaxial speaker from the Norwegian manufacturer Seas that includes a 26mm tweeter and a 4.5-inch mid-bass. Coaxial loudspeakers have the treble unit in the center of the bass unit, which has two fundamental advantages: it allows a smaller speaker and the tweeter and mid-bass emission point are in the same place.

The Trenner & Friedl Sun are extremely small speakers, I would say that when you have them in front of you they seem even smaller than in photos. But don't be fooled by their size, they are speakers that require an amplifier of at least 50W to give the best of themselves. They are capable of reaching 40 m² rooms with relatively high sound pressure levels without apparent effort. The bass is surprising: deep and articulate... if you don't know them you don't think that sound comes out of those small boxes and you start looking for the subwoofer... a better bass than you can hear is the vast majority of mini-monitors on the market, which They are also much larger in size. The middle and high end are transparent, clean, defined, and the sound in general is coherent and perfectly integrated. The T&F Sun disappear completely and create a huge soundstage.

Some amazing boxes that you should listen to if you are looking for high quality monitors and you have 50W or more and a room that is not excessively large.
