Furutech is known the world over for a wide variety of high quality audio quality parts and delivers consistently superior results by following the principles of Pure Transmission. Examine every link in the power and signal path, ultimately optimizing each and every element.
The new FI-48 features a new plating technique that offers sonic enhancements and a more durable finish. Also new to the series are newly designed cable clamps for a firm grip and resonance control.
“Rhodium plating on high-purity copper conductors provides sophisticated, high-resolution sound reproduction with a high signal-to-noise ratio. Low distortion, high-precision sound representation, high-speed response. A state-of-the-art rhodium-plated, high-performance connector." - Masamitsu Fukuda (Best Japanese Audio Commentator)
Nano Crystal Formula² (NCF)
Incorporated into select Furutech products, NCF features a special crystalline material that has two "active" properties. First, it generates negative ions that eliminate static electricity. Second, it converts heat energy into far infrared. Furutech combines this remarkable material with nano-sized ceramic particles and carbon powder for its additional "piezoelectric effect" damping properties. The resulting Nano Crystal² formula is the ultimate electrical and mechanical damping material. Created by Furutech, found exclusively on Furutech products.
The Furutech floating magnetic field damping system
Current flowing through a cable and its connector creates magnetic (and electrostatic) fields around it, changing polarity 60 times per second (60 Hz) in AC systems that power homes. This magnetic field induces a current flow (electrical potential) in small metal parts such as the screws that hold the connector housing, which must be made of metal to achieve a firm hold. The current flow in these small parts actually creates "floating" magnetic fields around them and interferes with the larger surrounding magnetic field of the cable/connector, causing noise and distortion.
The Furutech Floating Field Snubber solves the biggest problem you never realized you had by star grounding metal parts where floating magnetic fields are induced by current flow. All the various metal parts of the connector are bonded together and ground the generated electrical potentials. This significantly reduces noise by reducing distortion for ultra clean and stable power transfer. (US Patent No: 6,669,491 / European: EP1445837).
