FiiO enters the HiFi headphone market with the new FiiO FT3 model, its first open over-ear headphone with dynamic driver. Following the launch of the EH3NC, FiiO goes for a true HiFi headphone with 350 Ohms impedance and high quality internal circuitry. Every detail has been meticulously designed to position them as the best choice in their price range. Let's get to know them!
The power of great sound
The FiiO FT3 incorporates a 60mm dynamic driver, which, due to its large size, supports higher power output, generating less distortion on large dynamic signals and allowing deeper low frequency reproduction.
Careful design
The diaphragm is crucial in a dynamic driver, and not just any material can meet the demands of the FT3 due to its large driver size. After extensive testing, a beryllium-plated gasket + DLC diaphragm was chosen. The beryllium-plated FT3 driver gasket is lighter and stiffer, better handling driver movement to reduce distortion. The DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) diaphragm is strong and lightweight, offering extended frequency response and an improved soundstage.
350 Ohms impedance
Designed for superior sound, the FT3s feature an impedance of 350 ohms, effectively filtering out noise and providing a purer sound with a better signal-to-noise ratio. The voice coil, made of ultra-thin copper-clad Japanese aluminium, allows signals to be accurately tracked, offers anti-interference capabilities and impressive dynamics over a wide frequency range.
Internal and external magnetic circuitry
The FT3s use N52 neodymium magnets in an optimised internal and external magnetic circuit system, balancing coil and diaphragm movement during large dynamic changes for effective use of magnetic energy and better control.
Furukawa single-crystal cable
The FT3's 3-metre cable is made from high-purity Furukawa monocrystalline copper, ensuring high-quality transmission.
Lightweight and durable aluminium
The FT3's exterior is made entirely of aluminium, guaranteeing rigidity and light weight. These headphones combine comfortable listening with durability.
Comfort assured
The hexagonal design and ‘open-back’ structure reduce weight and improve listening comfort, freeing the driver's capabilities in a more open environment.
Open-back design benefits
The open-back design reduces unwanted vibrations and resonances, providing a wider, clearer soundstage similar to a live performance.
Three-axis rotation system
The 3-axis rotatable design ensures a perfect fit for different head and face shapes, maximising sound quality and comfort.
Innovation: Driver angled parallel to the ear
The FT3's driver is positioned at an angle parallel to the ear to reduce high-frequency distortion and minimise unwanted reflections, offering a more accurate frequency response.

FT3s come with two sets of interchangeable earpads:
- Suede earpads: for a balanced sound and an immersive experience.
- Protein leather ear cushions: for clear, detailed sound.
