Specifically designed to adapt to the characteristics of the human ear (where bass is emphasized as volume increases), the D8000 DC Pro Edition headphones are absolute reference-level circumaural planar headphones. The "DC" initials, meaning "Da Capo" (a musical term referring to "from the beginning"), underscore the creators' vision that this model is “the result of a complete reinvention of our flagship model, developed with a fresh and creative approach.”
The planar magnetic driver, incorporating the patented "Air Film Damping System" (AFDS) technology to control driver movement through air viscosity, has been meticulously optimized. This enhancement ensures more precise transient response and a significant reduction in distortion, delivering superior tonal quality and resolution.
Regarding the earpads, which are essential for a high-quality listening experience, they are crafted with a special fabric made from Washi paper, offering a dry texture to the touch and greater durability. A spongy material has also been added to improve breathability. The earpads, now 50% thicker than in the previous model, create a larger acoustic space, resulting in a wider soundstage, refined vocal reproduction, and a smoother, more balanced overall sound presentation.
