The SR125x and SR225x have had a sibling rivalry for decades. Being the youngest, the SR125x takes advantage of its fast driver to keep up with whatever music you play, while also being more affordable. But don't tell his older sister.

A new harmony.
X-series
driver. Grado's 4th generation drivers are here. Tuned specifically for the SR125x, this new driver design features a stronger magnetic circuit, a lower effective mass voice coil, and a reconfigured diaphragm. Reengineering these components for our 35mm drivers improves efficiency, reduces distortion, and preserves the harmonic integrity of your music.
New cables and headband.
Along with the speakers, cables and headband have been redesigned for the SR125x. The 8-conductor cable, now housed in a more durable exterior, transfers more information and features a super annealed copper strand to improve audio signal purity. The new headband is more padded for a more comfortable experience.
Handcrafted in Brooklyn.
Each SR125x is hand built by our team in Brooklyn. These headphones go from workbench to workbench until they're ready for your ears. We started building at a kitchen table in 1953, and every experience since then has led to the creation of the SR125x.
