On the outside, the M-ONE is almost identical to the M-DAC +, the flagship component of the Audiolab DAC. It carries the same compact aluminum case, small enough to sit discreetly on a desk, table or shelf, with the same central OLED display and a sleek dual rotary control system. But while standalone DACs require a separate power amplifier to drive a pair of speakers, the M-ONE packs in its tiny chassis high-quality stereo power amplification, plus pre-amp facilities for analog and digital sources.

The DAC section of the M-ONE is equipped to process PCM audio data up to 32-bit / 384 kHz via USB, ensuring that the M-ONE is ready to take full advantage of high-resolution digital sound, both now as in the future. The USB input also supports DSD files (the digital audio system originally developed for Super Audio CD), offering compatibility with DSD64, DSD128 and DSD256 - a significant inclusion, as DSD has an important role to play in the development of the recording scene. high resolution audio.

A low-noise linear power supply benefits all circuitry from the DAC to the power amplifier, incorporating a precision-wound, shielded toroidal transformer and multiple power supply sections to keep crosstalk to a minimum. This uncompromising circuit design allows for a large-scale, open sound scene packed with crisp detail and fast, precisely defined musical transients - when used with loudspeakers of adequate quality, the M-ONE's performance belies its diminutive size.
