For a couple of decades, AudioQuest AC power cords have been gaining momentum and respect for offering lower distortion and higher performance not only to high-end audiophiles, but also to Sonos, Apple TV, cable boxes, radios, etc. IC racks, etc. While AQ's NRG cables weren't large and painful enough to satisfy certain audiophile biases, they delivered the products - better audio and video for many more people than any other premium AC cable provider.

Now, AudioQuest is proud to introduce a family of cables that recalibrates the importance of choosing AC cables carefully. The NRG cables of the Storm series not only represent an incremental evolution, although that is always a good thing, but they demonstrate a leap in the category.

Words are meaningless once you've heard the difference and simply know the truth - but a few words can whet your appetite and provoke you to listen to Storm Series + Dragon sooner rather than later:

Features:

Quiet background and minimal electronic misbehavior.

Electrical characteristics of optimal insulation.

No Interaction with Strans, Minimal Disruption in Grain Bonding.

High purity conductors.

Low to moderate current optimized.

Soil noise dissipation technology.

Dielectric Bias System (DBS; US Pat # 7,126,055).

Controlled for correct directionality.

Quiet background and minimal electronics misbehavior.

Due to a more sophisticated noise dissipation system than ever (US Patent # 8,988,168), Storm NRG cables do what Garth Powell's magnificent Niagara power products do, reduce choking noise fine details, ambience, etc., and noise that causes active circuits to suffer from TIM and otherwise behave in ways, causing a flat sound effect forced through a screen door.

Electrical characteristics of optimal insulation.

Due to the AudioQuest dielectric biasing system (US Patent # 7,126,055). DBS's effectiveness in reducing non-linear distortions caused by temporary energy storage in cable insulation is evident across all AudioQuest cable types. However, in Storm series NRG cables, DBS is applied more strategically than ever, reducing dielectric noise, while DBS extends the bandwidth and RF noise dissipation efficiency (Q). , which is of utmost importance.

No interaction of filaments, minimal mess in the joint of the grain.

Due to the rigid conductors, there is no contact between the filaments and none of the distortions that this entails. Due to the higher metals, fewer grain joints within the conductors minimize distortion, and the upper surface of the conductor drains RF noise better than other metals.

NRG AudioQuest Storm Series cables are truly optimized for Low-Z | Noise Dissipation Systems, as well as the extraordinary power products of the Niagara Low-Z Series | Noise Dissipation System.

High purity conductors.

Perfect-Surface Technology applied to extremely pure silver provides unprecedented clarity and dynamic contrast. Perfect-Surface Silver (PSS) is AudioQuest's highest quality metal. Solid conductors prevent wire interaction, one of the main sources of cable distortion.

Extremely high purity Perfect-Surface Silver minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries that exist within any metallic conductor, nearly eliminating harshness and greatly increasing clarity compared to OFHC, OCC, 8N, and other types coppermade.

Low to moderate current optimized.

Storm Series AC cables are optimized for use with audio / video source components and computer peripherals that draw little or no current. The smaller conductors and improved noise dissipation topology were specifically designed to get the best possible performance from the source's audio / video components.

Soil noise dissipation technology.

AC ground wires provide protection against current wiring faults, but also act as antennas. Therefore, they are subject to induced radio frequency (RF) noise. This RF noise bypasses component power supplies and is typically coupled directly to the most sensitive video and audio circuitry in the system. AudioQuest's proprietary Underground Noise Dissipation greatly reduces this distortion, producing unprecedented levels of noise dissipation across the widest possible radio frequency bandwidth (range). Our unique circuit topology uses a common mode phase cancellation matrix, in conjunction with proprietary dielectric materials that provide additional differential linear filtering.

Dielectric Bias System (DBS; US Pat # 7,126,055).

By creating a constant dielectric field for the cable's or dielectric's primary capacitance field, DBS ensures extended bandwidth and smoother filtered noise dissipation, eliminating distortions and hum that plague other cables even after years of use and the so-called "operating time". Furthermore, DBS ensures that the RF noise dissipation system works as linearly as possible.

Controlled for correct directionality.

All drawn metal wires or conductors have an asymmetric and therefore directional grain structure. AudioQuest controls the variation in the resulting RF impedance so that the noise is drained away from where it will cause the distortion.
