The Nyquist is a state-of-the-art digital audio processor -DAC- whose hardware has been optimized to accommodate the most advanced digital formats of the moment. The device also supports "streaming" and playback of MQA ("Master Quality Authenticated") encoded files with sampling rates up to 384 kHz. The MQA allows to have a master studio sound quality from a file small enough to be reproduced by "streaming" or downloaded, thus allowing the universe of high resolution audio to be available to a range of users and Substantially higher devices. In case the MQA is not available, the Nyquist also supports the standards of digital coding to use, PCM of 32 bits / 384 kHz and DSD64 / 128 included. In addition, both the hardware and the software of the Brinkmann digital module have been designed so that they can be easily replaced by the user, which will allow Nyquist to stay at the top of digital technology. On the other hand, the use of a power source with exclusive technology brings to the performance of digital circuits very remarkable improvements that can be compared to those provided by the use of custom filters in the digital domain. In a nod to the renowned Marconi line preamplifier and the Edison phonon stage, both of Brinkmann's own, the Nyquist uses a hybrid circuit topology with valves in the output section as a result of its instantaneous response to voltage changes. Also noteworthy is Nyquist's generous connectivity, with USB, S / PDIF (coaxial and optical) and Ethernet inputs, plus balanced and unbalanced analog outputs plus a headphone jack. In addition, the new Brinkmann DAC is compatible with the program for playing and managing music files from RoonReady networks, while also supporting various streaming services.
