Taiko Extreme is the result of years of relentless research, comparison and listening, setting the pinnacle of what is possible in the music server arena. With unprecedented technological advances, it combines elite components, many of them custom designed, to deliver a revolutionary listening experience in the world of high-end digital audio.

Dual CPU Design

The Extreme adopts a dual-CPU design to overcome the dichotomy between sound quality and ease of use. Roon's luxurious interface, central to this project since 2015, is uniquely integrated. Our custom process mapping allows for the best of both worlds: exceptional sound quality and the best user interface. In addition, the dual-CPU design generates less heat, promising a longer lifespan compared to single-CPU configurations.

PCIe storage

Breaking through the performance limitations of conventional SSDs, the Extreme uses PCIe modules that connect directly to the CPU, bypassing the motherboard's DMI chipset. This innovation delivers speeds up to 4x faster than traditional SSDs, reducing latency and system noise. With internal storage options from 2TB to 64TB, it eliminates the need for replication from external drives.

Select High-Speed RAM

Our custom RAM modules incorporate A-grade components, matched with 1% tolerances to reduce refresh rates and operating temperatures. This choice ensures high combined bandwidth with low refresh noise levels, optimising sound quality.

Low Tail Depth and Latency

Designed for bit-perfect output with no upsampling, the Extreme focuses on maintaining the lowest possible latency for optimal sound quality. This attention to tail depth ensures constant current consumption, low EMI/RFI emissions and minimal power line pollution, preventing damage to other associated equipment in your music reproduction chain.

Multistage Linear Power Supply

The 400W linear power supply, developed in-house for the Extreme, uses the best of Mundorf and Duelund, along with Lundahl chokes, designed for optimum sonic neutrality. Extensive vibration measures are applied to ensure durability and the best possible sound quality.

Custom Cooling System

The custom designed 240W passive cooling system ensures efficient heat dissipation without live parts or noise. With micron precision at the CPU interface and the use of solid copper for the heat sinks, this custom solution extends component life, offering an additional 4 to 12 years of life depending on usage conditions.

Chassis Design

The aircraft-grade aluminium chassis, available in silver or black, acts as a shield against external noise and keeps your components free from contamination. The internal design addresses vibrational behaviour using materials such as copper and Panzerholz. Custom feet provide optimal coupling with the surface. The Extreme not only offers exceptional performance but is also a visual masterpiece built to last.
