Grade GS2000e

Legendary string instrument craftsmen Stradivarius and Guarnerius used a combination of woods to create violins and cellos that have become musical wonders over time. The technique of using different woods is found, however, in the manufacture of various instrument bodies, such as guitars and pianos, that are made today. Grado has combined John Grado's extensive experience in the design and craftsmanship of wooden headphones with this technique, making the GS2000e a reality.

Two woods, twice as good

The GS2000e feature a hybrid wood case. The external part is mahogany, and the internal part is maple. They come complete with a 50mm driver developed specifically for the GS2000e. This powerful blend of design and expertise results in headphones that embody pure musical ability and voices that dance across the entire frequency spectrum to delight even the most discerning audiophiles and music lovers.

In addition, each component that is part of the GS2000e has been treated with care, such as the new specific 50mm driver, the 12-conductor ultra-high-purity copper cable and the pads. Everything works together to enhance the music experience. This organic approach is a true process of craftsmanship and the essence of how GRADO is able to connect its users with music.

This model is sold with the 4pin XRL balanced cable option.

In search of the perfect resonance

Mahogany and maple, two woods historically related to music, come together to compose musical ecstasy. The GS2000e brings them together the same way instrument artisans have for centuries, and for the same reason: resonance. Different types of wood, with their different properties.

GRADO claims not to be comparing itself to the legendary Stradivarius, but one of its users, Olivier Colloud, commented:

"GRADO's Statement headphones are to audiophiles what Stradivarius is to the violin. The sensations of listening bring tears to your eyes due to the beauty, delicacy and fidelity of a sound that surpasses the imagination. The soundstage is wide and incredible scale, the smallest details are transcribed with unanalytic fidelity, the dynamics are impressive without assaulting the eardrums. These headphones are simply an audiophile work of art."

The handcrafted maple and mahogany shells are the materialization of the knowledge of experience that only GRADO has in cabinetmaking craftsmanship. This technique is used by craftsmen of higher quality instruments, since long ago and also today. The use of maple energizes the sound of the music so that it is fully conveyed, while the mahogany allows it to open up and reveal the true harmonic structure as the artist envisioned and interpreted it.
