Advance Paris, creator of emotions
Advance Paris is a story of passion, passion for this profession of creating emotions, shared with a team totally committed to the pursuit of perfection. Created by two music enthusiasts more than 20 years ago, Advance Paris - then Advance Acoustic - designed its first loudspeaker based on three fundamental points: the cabinetry, the loudspeakers and the filter circuit.
To this day, this primary orientation remains as relevant as ever.
Making a cabinet
Our high-end philosophy has naturally led us to cabinet makers who are renowned for their reliability and professionalism.
Cabinet making is a much more difficult job than it looks. The body structure must be homogeneous and completely rigid in order to eliminate the parasitic vibrations that contaminate the sound.
To achieve this, Advance Paris requires its cabinetmaking subcontractors to use high-quality materials. Thus, the high-density structuring panels are no longer made of chipboard, but of wood fibres combined with a synthetic binder. The advantages of these composite panels are their homogeneity in all three dimensions: the possibility of working them in significant thicknesses, up to 30 mm, their non-deformability and finally their superior acoustic performance compared to conventional OSB or PP panels.
Thus, for reasons of rigidity and machining precision, all the woodwork of the Advance Paris loudspeakers is made of this composite material.
To perfect this rigidity and homogeneity, both the internal reinforcements and the partitions prevent the formation of parasitic vibrations. The interior volume of the cabinet is carefully calculated, as are the dimensions of the tuning vent for each of the loudspeakers used. Finally, each loudspeaker cabinet is individually checked for tightness at the mounting points, both at the belt level and at the front and rear of the cabinet.
Internal damping
The movement of the membrane of the bass and midrange loudspeakers is propagated in front of and behind the loudspeaker itself, in phase opposition. The use of a cabinet (the enclosure cabinet) aims to eliminate this acoustic short-circuit. For this purpose, we use damping materials specifically developed to effectively cope with these standing waves. Their conditions of use are precise, so for each model, our designers determine the positioning, density and volume of the acoustic foam used.
The loudspeakers
The design of our loudspeakers meets precise specifications. For example, our woofers and mediums feature both lightweight and rigid, tightly woven treated paper membranes for greater sonic neutrality.
The use of an "inverted half-roll" suspension profile optimises the linearity of the loudspeaker's frequency response.
