REGA AYA. 2.5 way column type floor standing speakers
Rega Aya Project
Developed over a decade by a team of Rega's in-house designers, under the direction of our founder Roy Gandy, Project Aya loudspeakers promise to deliver a detailed and balanced musical experience, no matter what genre of music you choose to play. Using handcrafted Rega-designed drivers, plus our ZRR high-frequency tweeter and advanced crossover filter, our engineers have fine-tuned every aspect for exceptional performance. The stylish enclosures and stands create an attractive floating effect that contributes to a truly unique appearance.
Innovation in Design
After a decade of testing and development, the Rega loudspeakers of the Aya project are born. Housed in unique UK manufactured enclosures moulded from GRC (Glass Fibre Reinforced Cement), the construction of these enclosures reduces weight while improving the structural integrity of this 2.5 way bandpass design. This technique creates the perfect loudspeaker enclosure that enhances performance while offering exceptional value for money. The moulding process for the Aya loudspeakers was developed in collaboration with Yeovil, UK-based Lazenby, known for their bespoke concrete floor and furniture designs. Rega has applied for a patent for this unique moulding and casting process.
The glass fibres that make up the structure reduce weight while increasing the structural integrity of the 2.5-way bandpass loudspeaker enclosure.
Designed with a new cabinet configuration and transducer arrangement
Thanks to the combination of the new cabinet and driver configuration, the tweeter of Rega's Aya project loudspeakers is located in the middle of the mid and bass drivers. This allows the Aya loudspeakers to deliver tight, accurate bass, with Rega's signature mids and crisp, precise highs.
The material used gives these loudspeakers an attractive steel-grey colour.

If Rega was to continue to deliver on our promise of exceptional performance and value for money, it was necessary to explore other options due to the steadily rising cost of real wood veneered MDF enclosures. After a decade of testing and development, Aya loudspeakers are housed in a unique UK manufactured enclosure moulded from glass fibre reinforced cement. This construction reduces weight while improving the structural integrity of this 2.5-way bandpass enclosure.
This technique creates the perfect loudspeaker enclosure that enhances performance while offering exceptional value for money. The moulding process for the Aya project speakers was developed in collaboration with a UK-based company known for its bespoke concrete furniture designs and installations.
Rega fans will know that we have always questioned the marketing and science surrounding turntables. Our experiments and research have allowed us to debunk commonly held beliefs and use real engineering to produce unrivalled sound quality at reasonable prices.
However, the loudspeaker market is very different, as there is a strong scientific and engineering discipline that has spawned numerous competitors in the loudspeaker market. The success of many loudspeakers depends on convincing marketing, large advertising budgets (which Rega does not use) and financial arrangements with retailers. Rega has invested all the money that most loudspeaker companies would spend on marketing in research and development to achieve a totally unique enclosure construction.
*Speaker grilles are available as an option and will be supplied separately. To reduce costs and avoid unnecessary waste, we have chosen not to include the grilles as standard, as most customers choose not to use them. These grilles are simply attached by magnets to the faceplate screws to prevent damage to the cone or tweeter. They are covered with a high quality loudspeaker cloth material that minimises any impact that an installed grille may have. You can see images of the grilles in the gallery section."
