New Pro-ject X8 Turntable
The Austrian firm Pro-ject Audio Systems, a world leader in the world of turntables, has just launched a genuinely High End vinyl player, the Pro-ject X8, the brand's most affordable massively loaded turntable to date. Designed and manufactured in Europe, it sits between the Pro-ject X2 and the Project Xtension 9.
Its price is unprecedented as the features and high-end principles of the Pro-ject X8 assimilate it to those of its bigger brothers. High-end design in massively loaded turntables is more affordable than ever!
As regards the most notable differences with the aforementioned Xtension 9 and 10, you have to look for them in the upper part of the main chainring and in the decoupling feet: thus, the X8 incorporates a felt mat, while the feet with The magnetic suspension that the two Xtensions have have been replaced by others with internal TPE treatment, the latter material being very effective when it comes to decoupling the new Pro-Ject from the surface on which it rests.
Another of the virtues of this magnificent turntable is its precision control. It includes an electronic speed control button which allows us to regulate the speed between 35/45 rpm by pressing a button.
The X8 is also prepared for Pro-ject's new True Balanced connection. Single ended RCA connections literally only use half of your cartridge's output. With the new True Balanced phono cables connected to a Phono Box S3 B, Phono Box DS3 B, Phono Box RS or RS2 you can hear your MC cartridge in its entirety.
