The EAR 509 monophonic power amplifier was originally designed to meet the demands of professional studios, but its extraordinary high-fidelity quality also makes it an ideal choice for home audio reproduction.
This 100 W monophonic amplifier is an iconic design by Tim de Paravicini, which has remained in constant production for over 30 years. Its timeless, elegant, rectilinear design features a handmade polished chrome finish that gives it a clean and sophisticated aesthetic. Despite its high power, the EAR 509 has been refined to offer a compact design without compromising performance.
Reliability and ease of use
The EAR 509 was designed with reliability as a priority, backed by three decades of manufacturing experience. Additionally, changing the tubes is easy thanks to the automatic bias system. With the help of two sets of dials and four LED indicators, the operational bias adjustment is done precisely and intuitively, facilitating maintenance when needed.
Optimized performance
Tim de Paravicini built the EAR 509 with industrial-grade components designed to withstand the demands of professional environments. The option to equip the amplifier with balanced inputs makes it ideal for recording studio applications. As with all EAR products, great care is taken to ensure the best possible performance. One example of this is the selection of tubes, which are rigorously tested and matched to ensure that each pair of EAR 509 amplifiers delivers the highest quality stereo output.
Custom design
Transformers designed by Tim de Paravicini are highly versatile and work with virtually any system. Each output and power transformer has been custom-made with the goal of providing maximum musical performance. These transformers are handcrafted in England and undergo rigorous testing to ensure they meet the high-quality standards of EAR Yoshino. With this approach, the design of the EAR 509 maximizes its 100-watt output while maintaining exceptional sound quality.
