KRELL KSA-i400
The KSA-i400 is an absolute reference stereo power amplifier equipped with Krell's most advanced circuit topologies and technologies, such as iBias, XD and Sym-Max. The result is an organic, spacious and detailed presentation of music supported by the robust low end and spectacular dynamic capabilities that have cemented the veteran American company's reputation. The iBias allows the KSA-i400 to operate in Class A up to its full rated power with absolute precision but without the heat produced by traditional designs using that configuration. XD, on the other hand, is a technique whose purpose is to reduce the output impedance of the amplifier, thereby achieving superior control of the loudspeakers in the cabinets and, as a result, improved dynamics, depth and dimensionality of the music. Sym-Max, an acronym for "Symmetrical Maximization", refers to a scheme that corrects small asymmetries in the KSA-i400's differential, balanced and DC-coupled circuitry, almost completely eliminating 2nd order harmonic distortion and, in practice, drastically opening up the soundstage and thus increasing the naturalness of the listening experience. The Krell, which uses the well-proven Current Mode, is microprocessor-controlled, includes robust protection and can be integrated into home automation equipment.
