The Nu-Vista PAM power amplifier incorporates the acclaimed Nu-Vista preamp with 6S51N nuvistors, integrated into a discrete Class A amplifier buffer.
This amplifier features a balanced circuit configuration and a “bridged” output amplifier section with balanced input, offering high power and low distortion. The power stages include 2 x 5 pairs of thermally compensated high-power output transistors, ensuring reliable and stable operation.
Based on the Titan 1000 W power amplifier, it employs dedicated capacitors for each output device, enhancing dynamics and reducing output impedance. Inductors have also been added to minimize supply ripple and mitigate pulse current peaks. The bias is set to operate initially in Class A up to over 5 W, transitioning to Class B at an optimized point to minimize discontinuities and better handle common distortions.

Nu-Vista PAM Power Supply
The Nu-Vista PAM power amplifier is accompanied by a dedicated external power supply, designed to reduce noise by isolating the AC power supply from the main circuits. This external unit optimizes the power grid and output filtering, reducing interference in the audio circuits. It includes an LED indicator for power/standby status and is controlled from the front panel of the power amplifier. Additionally, a rear mechanical switch ensures complete isolation from the power grid.

These tubes were pioneering in devices such as the Ampex MR-70 recorder and studio microphones like the Neumann U47, used by legendary artists such as Frank Sinatra and The Beatles. While their production declined with the advent of transistors, Musical Fidelity has reintroduced these tubes in their Nu-Vista series, blending them with modern technology to deliver exceptional sound performance.
