The flagship of Ortofon's popular 2M series of moving magnet (MM) cartridges, the 2M Red is notable first and foremost for incorporating the unique split pole pins, a development that allows moving magnet cartridges to exhibit a frequency response curve with the same uniformity as their moving coil counterparts. Equipped with an elliptical stylus and an improved signal generation system that allows it to optimise sound reproduction and exhibit a high level of sonic accuracy, the 2M Red delivers a 5.5 mV output signal that ensures a perfect match with the phono circuitry of any integrated amplifier or preamplifier on the market. On the other hand, the design of its structure - made in collaboration with the Danish studio Moeller Densen Design and inspired by the cuts of a diamond - facilitates integration in all types of arms, in addition to the possibility of mounting from the bottom and even in those arms that do not allow the fastening screws to pass through the upper part of the capsule holder.
