EVO AS Premium Arm Tube and Wiring

The EVO AS arm utilizes an S-shaped aluminum tube with internal damping and a bayonet-style universal headshell. This design is not only aesthetically striking on any turntable but also offers significant technical advantages. The S-shaped geometry reduces groove angle distortion, resulting in exceptional tracking. Additionally, the user-replaceable headshell facilitates cartridge swapping for music enthusiasts. Securing the arm tube with a single screw allows for easy azimuth adjustment. As for internal wiring and headshell cables, high-purity silver-plated flexible conductors combined with crystal are used, ideal for conveying low-level phonographic signals with high-fidelity detail. Each cable is equipped with a gold-plated cartridge connector to ensure a secure and quality connection.

Arm Bearing

The arm rotates on a quality ABEC 7 inverted gimbal bearing with 4 stainless steel tips. This type of bearing offers high stability and low friction, ensuring precise and clean tracking. The stainless steel mass housing that houses the bearing provides the necessary stability and keeps unwanted cartridge and arm critical parts vibrations and resonances at bay. Furthermore, the open design of the gimbal's outer ring helps to avoid bell mode resonance. While the bearing design does not require maintenance, adjustment is easy if necessary.

Tracking Force and VTA Adjustment

Each arm comes with two counterweights to offer broad compatibility with a variety of cartridges. These counterweights are dampened with TPE to effectively control resonance. The EVO Premium counterweights fully encase the TPE for a cleaner and aesthetic appearance. It is recommended to use the counterweight closest to the pivot that allows achieving the desired tracking force, thus ensuring maximum stability and low arm inertia.

The arm height can be continuously adjusted by loosening and tightening the set screws on the arm base, allowing for precise adjustment according to the user's VTA requirements. Experimenting with VTA and azimuth is essential to maximize the performance of phono cartridges.
