A fundamental accessory to determine the correct distance between the tip of the reading needle and therefore to minimize reading errors and maximize sound quality. When aligning a pickup capsule with the help of this template, what is sought is to align the cantilever (and hence the tip of the needle), not the body of the capsule. In fact, there is no guarantee that the cantilever is perfectly aligned within the body of the capsule, so that the simple alignment of the cantilever will not necessarily produce the desired results. In addition, the bodies of many pick-up caps have non-parallel walls, which makes the tangential alignment thereof with the lines of tangency of the template virtually impossible. With this Ortofon template in which the neutral points (null points) and the lines of tangency against which the capsule should be aligned are ensured that the cantilever is parallel with respect to the relevant set of parallel lines. Thus, when the longitudinal axis of the capsule is obtained that is parallel to the horizontal lines, the reading error will be the least possible.
