The WEL Firm incorporates all of the best AudioQuest techniques, materials and practices, such as perfect surface silver conductors, FEP air tubes, noise dissipation system, and our most advanced custom machined RCA and XLR connectors. The WEL signature will leave you breathless and without wanting more.

100% PERFECT SURFACE SOLID SILVER CONDUCTORS (PSS):

Perfect surface technology applied to extreme purity silver provides unprecedented clarity and dynamic contrast. Solid conductors prevent wire interaction, a major source of cable distortion. Perfect-Surface Extreme Purity Silver minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries that exist within any metallic conductor, almost completely eliminating hardness and greatly increasing clarity compared to OFHC, OCC, 8N, and other coppers.

FEP AIR TUBE INSULATION (FEP is a fluorine polymer):

Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials absorb energy (loss). Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. All WEL firm conductors use air tube insulation because air absorbs almost no energy, and FEP is the best solid extrudable insulation and absorbs less energy than other materials. The FEP air tubes used at WEL have almost nothing but air around the solid PSS conductors.

DIELECTRIC SYSTEM-BIAS (DBS, US Pat #s 7,126,055 & 7,872,195 B1):

All insulation slows down the signal inside the conductor. When isolation is unbiased, it slows down parts of the signal differently - a big problem for highly time-sensitive multi-octave audio. AudioQuests DBS creates a strong and stable electrostatic field that saturates and polarizes (organizes) the molecules in the insulation. This minimizes both the energy storage in the insulation and the multiple non-linear time delays that occur. Sound appears from a strikingly black background with unexpected detail and dynamic contrast. ECP battery packs will last for years. A test button and LED allow for occasional battery testing.

CARBON-BASED 4-LAYER NOISE DISSIPATION SYSTEM:

100% shield coverage is easy. To prevent captured RF interference from modulating the equipment ground reference, an AQs noise dissipation system is required. Metal and synthetics with carbon prevent most RFIs from reaching the equipment ground plane.

TERMINATION:

This plug design allows a perfect heatless connection between the cord and plug. The connection between the plug and the conductors is made by the AQs cold welding system, which provides a superior connection that ensures that the structural integrity of the conductor is kept completely intact. The Cold Welding System refers to a combination of high pressure at the point of contact and the use of paste impregnated with copper or silver. (WEL signatures on silver conductors are given silver paste.) XLR plugs are also available.
